This forum was started due to identification of a gap to help younger members of the population with a tool to bridge the gap between themselves and Gurbani.
As Japji Sahib is the foundation of the divine teachings of Siri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, a weekly Japji Sahib memorisation class commenced in 2023.
The aim being to empower children with the divine gift of Japji Sahib in their memory.
The framework operates on a rewards based model whereby the children attending receive a prize each week in return for completion of their record log confirming they have recited Japji Sahib each day that week (verified by their parents). Whilst acknowledging individuals all learn at different rates, in general, experience has shown that by utilising this particular method of learning, children can recite Japji Sahib by heart within a 6 month period. As with the Gurbani Connect forum, this is a free to enrol service offered by the charity and our volunteers are actively helping to roll out the model to other Gurdwara’s around the world.
